2025-12-05

On November 27, the International Center for Science and Technology Strategic Studies and Training (CISTRAT) of the Chinese Academy of Science and Technology for Development (CASTED) was invited to participate in the second UNESCO Asia-Pacific Open Science webinar.

Organized by the UNESCO Jakarta Office under the theme "From the UNESCO Recommendation to Reality: Open Science in the Asia-Pacific Region," the webinar brought together researchers, policymakers, and experts from across the region to advance the implementation of the UNESCO Recommendation on Open Science (2021).

During the session, a CASTED researcher shared insights and experiences on integrating open science principles into national innovation strategies and strengthening data infrastructure. CISTRAT actively contributed to the webinar's preparation, helping to  mobilize multi-stakeholder participation and foster collaboration.

Moving forward, CISTRAT will continue to support follow-up activities, such as seminars and training programs, to further assist UNESCO in advancing policy dialogue and practical exchanges on open science across the Asia-Pacific region, and in jointly promoting the equitable sharing of scientific knowledge and the healthy development of the innovation ecosystem.
