The Chinese research team for the EU Horizon Europe project AIOLIA, is pleased to announce the successful conclusion of the national workshop on "AI Ethics Value Co-creation from a Multi-Stakeholders Perspective". Held during the China-ASEAN Expo, this event was guided by the Chinese Academy of Science and Technology for Development (CASTED), and strongly supported by co-organizers, the Research Institute of the China-ASEAN Artificial Intelligence Collaborative Innovation Center (CAAIC) and Guangxi University of Science and Technology. The Chinese research team brought together experts from government, industry, academia, and research sectors to foster knowledge toward sustainable development and international cooperation of artificial intelligence.
As part of the project's research, Chinese research team is dedicated to transforming abstract AI ethics principles into operational practices. At this workshop, Chinese research team highlighted the core use-case study: the "Datou Aliang" smart elderly care system. Through in-depth discussions, the attending experts reached a consensus that effective AI ethics governance must be a "co-creation" system that incorporates multiple stakeholders, including government regulators and industry associations, and prioritizes ethical considerations before technological development.
Chinese research team believes the success of this workshop has not only deepened the theoretical and practical understanding of AI ethics for all parties but has also laid a solid foundation for future cross-cultural collaboration in AI ethics research, standard-setting, and industrial cooperation.
