On April 24, the Vietnam delegation led by Ms Nguyễn Thị Ngọc Diep, Director General of the Department of Legislation of the Ministry of Science and Technology of Vietnam, visited CASTED to discuss scientific and technological innovation (STI) policies and regulations. The meeting was hosted by CASTED Vice President Guo Rong. Representatives from the Ministry of Science and Technology of China (MOST) participated in the discussion.

During the meeting, Ms Nguyễn Thị Ngọc Diep first introduced the purpose of this visit. The Vietnamese side said that China has made remarkable achievements in science and technology legislation and reform on STI policy, which has promoted the country’s rapid development in science and technology. It is hoped that Vietnam can learn from China, regarding the introduction of talents, the use of scientific research funds, enterprise innovation and entrepreneurship, and STI cooperation, so as to better guide the scientific and technological development of Vietnam. In the later discussion, representatives from MOST and CASTED respectively responded to the above issues.

Vice President Guo Rong warmly welcomed the Vietnamese delegation and expressed his hope that the symposium would help strengthen the exchanges and cooperation between the two sides, and explore new channels to strengthen STI cooperation between China and Vietnam.
