On March 28, Dr. Zhang Chunlin, Chief Expert of Private Sector Development, Finance, Competitiveness, & Innovation Global Practice at the World Bank, and Dr. Fu Xiaolan, Consultant of the World Bank Research Team and Professor of Technology and International Development, Oxford University, visited CASTED with a four-member delegation. President Hu Zhijian hosted the visiting delegation.

President Hu Zhijian welcomed the World Bank delegation and gave a brief introduction on CASTED. Dr. Zhang Chunlin briefly introduced the background of the delegation and the purpose of the visit. President Hu and Academic Councilor Chen Baoming elaborated on the topics of interest to the World Bank Research Team. The two sides exchanged views on China’s means of promoting innovation, technology transfer and transformation policies, China’s industry-university-research collaboration system as well as innovation and growth of the corporate sector during the 13th Five-Year period.

The representatives of the Institute of Rural and Regional Development, the Institute of S&T Investment, the Institute of S&T for Industrial Development, the Institute of S&T Statistics and Analysis, the Institute of Comprehensive Development and the Department of Research Management also participated in the reception and discussion.
