On the afternoon of January 21, Mr. Hinrich Thölken, Special Envoy of the German Foreign Ministry for Digital Transformation, and Ms. Heidrun Tempel, Representative of the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Scientific Research, Education and Cultural Policies, visited CASTED. President Hu Zhijian received the delegation. Chen Jian, representative of the Institute of S&T for Industrial Development, Li Xiuquan, representative of the Institute of Technology Foresight and Evaluation, and staff members of the Department of Research Management participated in the reception.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on the digital transformation of the Chinese economy and society, and discussed the development needs and strategies of digitization and artificial intelligence, as well as the concepts and challenges during the period of transformation. The German delegation said that this meeting offered new perspectives for cooperation and looked forward to more discussions and exchanges in the future.
