The Institute of S&T Investment Invites Japanese Scholars for Academic Exchange

On December 5, 2018, the CASTED Institute of S&T Investment invited Ikeda Yuya, a research fellow at National Institute of Science and Technology Policy (NISTEP) of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan, and Ikeuchi Kenta, a research fellow at the Research Institute of Economy Trade and Industry of Japan, to China for academic exchange.


Researchers from the Institute of S&T Investment and the Japanese scholars exchanged views on the evolution of policies introduced by Japan to support SME innovation, and discussed the differences in the characteristics of Chinese and Japanese SMEs. In the report titled The Effect of Fiscal Subsidies on Increasing the Productivity of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, research fellow Ikeuchi Kenta explained the changes of SME production subsidy policies implemented by the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry as well as the characteristics of the recipients of the relevant support policies and the effects of such policies. In the report titled The Role of PhD Degree Holders in Enterprise Innovation, research fellow Ikeda Yuya offered his analysis on this subject using Japan’s innovation survey data. President Hu Zhijian exchanged views with the Japanese scholars and researchers from the Institute of S&T Investment, the Institute of S&T for Industrial Development, the Institute of S&T Statistics and Analysis, the Institute of Science, Technology and Society and other departments.
