On October 27 and 28, the 2015 Pujiang Innovation Forum, co-sponsored by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China and Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, was held at Dongjiao State Guest Hotel in Shanghai. With CASTED being a co-organizer of the forum, CASTED President Hu Zhijian and Vice President Wang Fenyu and researchers of relevant CASTED institutes attended the forum. Hu Zhijian and Wang Fenyu also attended the council meeting of the 2015 forum, where Hu, in his capacity as a deputy chair of the advisory board of the forum, delivered a report on the agenda design of the 2016 Pujiang Innovation Forum. During the parallel session on policy co-organized by CASTED, Hu gave a keynote speech entitled “Globalization and China’s STI Strategy” on the theme “Formulating Open and Inclusive Innovation Policy”.

The 2015 Pujiang Innovation Forum, with “Incorporating Common Interests in the Global Innovation Network” as its theme, consisted of the general meeting, one “country of honor” forum, nine parallel sessions, two cooperation sessions, and two matching sessions, and was attended by more than 100 famous people from government, S&T, industry, finance, and academic sectors. Israel was the country of honor and Jiangsu was the province of honor. During the opening ceremony on the morning of October 27, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sent their congratulatory messages, and Wan Gang, Vice Chair of CPPCC and Minister of Science and Technology of China, and Silvan Shalom, Vice Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior of Israel, representing the country of honor, gave keynote speeches. Ying Yong, Deputy Secretary of CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, Tu Guangshao, member of the Standing Committee of CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee and executive deputy mayor of Shanghai, and Xu Nanping, vice governor of Jiangsu, attended the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony was chaired by Xu Guanhua, Chair of Pujiang Innovation Forum.
