CASTED Attended the Pujiang Innovation Forum - 2017 International Science, Technology and Innovation Think Tank Forum 31

From June 16 to 17, the Pujiang Innovation Forum - 2017 International Science, Technology and Innovation Think Tank Forum was held in Shanghai. Experts and scholars from world-class science, technology and innovation think tanks at home and abroad had a comprehensive and in-depth discussion on the theme of Globalization of Innovation and Renovation of Urban Functions.

President Hu Zhijian delivered an opening address as the chair of the forum, and gave a keynote speech entitled China’s Innovation Strategy: Challenges and Choices. Experts from leading Chinese and foreign think tanks, including the Development Research Center of the State Council, China Association for Science and Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Tsinghua University, Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of China, Brookings Institution, RAND Corporation, Stanford Research Institute International, European Academy of Technology and Innovation Assessment, Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research, The Mori Memorial Foundation, and Korea Institute of Science and Technology made presentations on topics such as “features and trends of innovation globalization”, “promoting win-win innovation globalization”, “fostering and shaping the innovation functions of cities” and “building global innovation hub cities”. They gave their analysis of the global trend of science, technology and innovation from different perspectives, explained the role and functions of cities in the global innovation network, and offered their insights and suggestions on Shanghai’s efforts to speed up the building of a science, technology and innovation hub with global influence.

The forum was hosted by Shanghai Institute for Science of Science under the guidance of CASTED, and supported by the International Research and Training Center for Science and Technology Strategy (CISTRAT), a UNESCO category-2 center founded by CASTED. About ten CASTED researchers attended the forum.
