On September 23, the Seminar of Chinese Expert Group for Sino-German Innovation Platform was convened at CASTED, chaired by CASTED President Hu Zhijian and attended by a total of 21 representatives, experts and scholars from entities including the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, Institute of Policy and Management of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences School of Economics and Management, Tongji University, China Automotive Technology & Research Center, China Solid State Lighting Alliance (CSA), Zhejiang University of Technology, Chinese-German Economic Advisory Committee, China Association for Small & Medium Commercial Enterprises, Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. and CASTED institutes including the Institute of Science and Technology Systems and Management, Institute of Science and Technology for Industrial Development, Institute of Comprehensive Development, and Institute of Science and Technology Investment.

At the meeting, the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Science and Technology introduced the overall background of Sino-German innovation cooperation and its latest progress and the preparation for the 4^th Sino-German Innovation Conference. CASTED introduced the organization and agenda design of the conference. The representatives of cooperation groups on electric mobility, urbanization, clean water and semiconductor lighting each introduced their progress within the framework of Sino-German innovation cooperation and their key subjects and achievements. Representatives of the Chinese-German Economic Advisory Committee, China Association for Small & Medium Commercial Enterprises, and Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. each introduced their focus areas in Sino-German innovation cooperation. The attendees also had discussions on the division of tasks and subsequent work arrangements for the 4^th Sino-German Innovation Conference.
