With the development of China's heavy industry, Chinese resource-dependent cities, who have experienced a decade of years' high-speed growth, are now facing great pressure of transformation. But because of their highly single sector, and the lack of new growth points, it's hard for them to transform. This paper, by taking Huainan as an example, analyses the urgency, development opportunity and difficulties of resource-dependent cities' transformation, and also offers some suggestions.
