China Sodality of Scientific and Technological Institutes is a national, non-profit and non-governmental organization with independent legal status founded by a number of natural science research organizations and engineering technology development and research organizations (hereinafter referred to as S & T-related organizations, including high-tech enterprises and S & T intermediary service organizations) in a voluntary basis in 1987. The major tasks of the Federation are to promote academic and information exchange, S & T achievement popularization, S & T consulting, technology transfer, and organize activities such as training and international S & T cooperation. Only organizations are members of the China Federation of Scientific and Technological Institutes. At present, it has nearly 500 members, including research institutes under the central-level ministries and departments and national defense system, local research institutes, university-sponsored research institutes, research institutes under enterprises, private research institutes, and S & T administration agencies.
China Science and Technology Indicator Research Association is a non-governmental academic group set up in October 1995, focusing on S & T indicator research and application. The purpose of the Association is to unite and organize the S & T indicator researchers, to promote research, application and popularization of S & T indicators, to cultivate relevant talents, to improve the prosperity of S & T indicators, to bolster S & T management and decision-making, and to serve the coordinated development of S & T, economy and society.
